Steering Committee meeting No. 8 was held 8-9 May in Mechelen, Belgium. At the meeting, the Steering Committee approved three project applications.

Second newsletter from e-harbours

moving to the core of doing business." This one of the conclusions in the second edition of the e-harbours newsletter.
ESPON has launched a Call for Proposals relevant for the Programme. The Secretariat would like to encourage experts in the region to consider submitting an application. Deadline is 13 June.

Invitation to e-harbours midterm conference
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the e-harbours midterm conference 2012. This two-day event will be organized in cooperation with the I-SUP 2012 congress in Bruges, Belgium.
E-harbours interview with Hans Schäfers, from the Hamburg showcase of the e-harbours project: Hans Schäfers is a fellow at engineering company Sumbi, and teaches at both the Hamburg University for Applied Science HAW and the Harbour City University of Hamburg.
Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - In close cooperation with Scottish Enterprise and the project partners Edinburgh Napier University and Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, North Sea Supply Connect will be organizing a conference about sustainable energy on March 20th and 21st of this year.

NMU Pilot Module on "Hinterland Management related to Port Management" at Jacobs University Bremen
The first pilot course of the module “Hinterland Management related to port Management” is starting this spring semester. Target group: students of the MSc International Logistics Management and Engineering Programme at NMU partner universities.

Cruise Gateway Workshop in Copenhagen: Energy efficient Terminal
Copenhagen is building a new cruise terminal with special focus on energy efficiency and environmental solutions: green roofs that insulate both from cold and heat and absorb much of the rain falling relieving the sewage system, solar energy panels for electricity power, a sustainable indoor climate solution, translucent building elements of polycarbonate, roof-windows minimizing electrical consumption, HEATBLOC surface preventing solar overheating. February 23, 2012 CRUISE GATEWAY partners and further stakeholders met in Copenhagen to get the latest information.
